Safran +, an improvement drive in the name of success

For nearly 10 years, Techspace Aero has been actively working on its improvement process in order to reach the high level of excellence its customers expect

Techspace Aero has initiated a continuous improvement process so as to give a formal structure to the progress-oriented actions which are already deeply ingrained in the minds and habits of its personnel.

The main objective was to improve products and working methods using various tools and methodologies:

Process Certification, 6 Sigma, TPM, Visual Factory, SPC, 5S, SMED,…

Techspace Aero's improvement process moved a further step forward when it was incorporated into the large-scale improvement drive launched within the SAFRAN group and called "Safran +". This initiative aims to :

  • integrate the improvement processes initiated in each of the companies in the SAFRAN group
  • perfect the way the improvements are carried out by using appropriate methods and tools
  • demonstrate the improvements that have been successfully implemented to customers and to those who have actually helped bring about the improvements.

Today the improvements Techspace Aero wishes to implement apply not only to its products and services but to its whole operating modes and processes. The Executive Board is has the task of defining the annual progress plan and steering its application thanks to measurement indicators which evolve from month to month. A team of specialists from the Total Quality unit, supported by a group of experts from various fields, is responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of this plan.
