Aerospace electrical valve

The aerospace teams at Techspace Aero are gaining new skills while putting the finishing touches to a fully electrical valve intended for use on the successor to the Vulcain engine which provides the propulsion for the Ariane 5 launch vehicle. This valve, which regulates the oxygen/hydrogen mixture ratio in the engine, provides for more accurate regulation and greater flexibility. Its electrical motor replaces the pneumatic in-flight actuator and the hydraulic actuator used for adjustment on the ground.
It regulates hot gases at temperatures of up to 660° and at pressures of approximately 125 bars.
